Welcome to my new blog

It was in early 2010, in the run-up to the FIFA 2010 Soccer World Cup being hosted in South Africa, that I first met the team of the Defence Reserves office, and that I had an opportunity to go behind the scenes at the Cape Town Military Tattoo, which is held (almost) every year at the Castle of Good Hope in Central Cape Town.

Initially, my role was primarily one of writing articles and blog posts about various military events and parades and taking a couple of photos to illustrate those. Gradually, though, my focus shifted more and more to the photography side of things.
