CTMT 2010: Bookings Open!

I am delighted to report that bookings for the Cape Town Military Tattoo 2010 at the historic Castle of Good Hope in central Cape Town have finally opened at Computicket.

The nightly performances will take place from Wednesday 3 November to Saturday 6 November 2010. The official performance starts at 20h00, but the gates to the Castle will open at 18h00. Seats are reserved, so you don’t need to worry about fighting for seats. And there will be refreshments on sale inside the Castle.

tattoo2010This year there will also be some pre-show performances of youth groups before the main show, which promises to be quite exciting.

For the duration of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in June/July, the Defence Reserves had put together a most entertaining programme to showcase the military’s involvement with skills development among the youth in Cape Town.

Five talented youth groups were thus given an opportunity to perform at the Castle: the Portlands High School Field Marching Band, the Eerste River Youth Brigade, the Malibu Drum Majorettes, the South African Navy Sea Cadets and the Limited Edition Drum Corps. If you are curious, you can download the article I wrote about this here.

The media launch is scheduled for next week, and then I’ll be able to tell you more about what is planned. I just know that it will be absolutely spectacular! And you cannot believe how totally over the moon I am that this year I am allowed to be behind the scenes … actually, you can probably guess that already… 😉

If you need any further persuasion that this is one of the not-to-be-missed highlights of the Cape Town events calendar, have a look at my blogposts and photos of the 2007, 2008 and 2009 tattoos. And then call up your friends, email your colleagues, make your travel plans, and book your seats! Don’t miss this event!
